Pepsi & Time Warner Cable Present Rock Band Grand Strand At Freestyle Music Park July 10 - August 14

Pepsi and Time Warner Cable have partnered with Freestyle Music Park to present Rock Band Grand Strand, each Friday evening from beginning July 10, with a Grand Finale on August 14. Rock Band Xbox 360 bands can register to give their best Rock Band performance and move on to the Finale where they will compete for a trip to New York for the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2009. All performances will be on the Thunder & Lightening Stage at Freestyle Music Park.

Bands should pre-register for their performance at www.GrandStrandNow.com. Bands can register for a subsequent performance date if they perform at an audition and do not move on to the finale at that time. The registration fee of $50 benefits the Conway Chamber of Commerce.

Bands are limited to four performers and will compete in either the Senior category (at least one or more Band members are 18 years of age or older) or the Junior category (all members are between 13-17 years of age). At each performance, one Senior and one Junior band will advance based solely on the Rock Band Xbox 360 score. At the finale, one band from either category will be selected for the Grand Prize based on a combination of Rock Band Xbox 360 score (50%) and Judges’ criteria (50%) of artistry, crowd involvement and showmanship.

The Grand Prize is valued at $2,500 and includes round trip coach airfare from Myrtle Beach to New York, two-night hotel stay, ground transportation to and from New York area airport and hotel, a welcome dinner, two tickets to the VMA viewing party, two gift bags, and $200 spending cash.

Any entrant who is under 18 should get his or her parent or legal guardian’s permission to enter.
